The Urban Design and Architectural skills survey 2008

What is it about?

We are currently undertaking research to investigate the attitudes to and uptake of non-technical skills development in the Architectural and Urban Design realms.

There is a wide and varied range of literature that focuses on the continued professional development of technical excellence, but very little on the non-technical skills that create outstanding and profitable practices.

The aim of this research is to identify and explore these skills and their relevance to practice success.

Examples of areas already identified through client work and industry research include:

  • Project Management
  • Team building and team leadership
  • Managing multidisciplinary projects
  • Managing project processes

Why take part?
All participants will recieve a free copy of the final report outlining the current thinking on skills development within the industry.

What is involved?
The research is being conducted through a short telephone interview, arranged at a time that suits you.  All information collected will remain confidential – all results will be presented in summary format only.

How do I get involved?
All architectural and urban design practices are welcome to take part. Simply email research@optimiset-d.co.uk to register an interest and we will contact you to arrange a suitable time for your telephone interview.
